Fix location or weather problems

Recover when Layer cannot find your place or load current conditions.

Layer needs a place and a usable forecast before it can prepare a recommendation. You can recover without sharing your current location.

If Layer cannot find your location

Choose Search city and enter the place where you plan to run. A manual city works even when location access is off or a current-location fix is unavailable.

If you want to use the phone's location instead:

  1. Check that Location Services is available for Layer in iOS Settings.
  2. Return to Layer and choose Use my current location.
  3. Give the phone a moment to resolve a new location.

If Layer knows the place but weather does not load

Choose Try again. Also check that the phone has a working internet connection.

Layer can fall back between weather providers, so the source named in the app may change. A fallback can restore the forecast, but no provider can guarantee that every request succeeds or that every forecast is current.

You can also choose Search city to replace the current place and request weather there.

If the problem continues

Report the problem from Profile > Report a bug. Include the approximate city and time of the failure. Do not include a street address, account password, authentication code, or token.
