We try to be fair

We read each product's public pages, store listings or recent press coverage, and every page links the sources we used with the date we read them. We say where the other app is the better choice. If something is out of date, email help@layertoday.com. Layer claims only what the shipped app does today.

Frequently asked questions

What is Layer?

Layer tells runners what to wear. Give it the run you have planned, when, how long and how hard, and it reads the weather across the whole run and gives you one outfit. What to wear today is always free, in the iPhone app and the web app.

How is Layer different from running apps like Strava and Runna?

Strava records and shares your runs and Runna writes your training plan. Neither describes an outfit for a specific run on its product pages. Layer covers that decision before the run, and you can use it alongside both.

Is Layer a race app?

Layer is an everyday app first. For race week, Layer Pro adds Race Mode with friends' voice notes, a race morning schedule and an outfit for the conditions at your start.
