Connect, reconnect, or disconnect Strava
Manage Strava if the connection is available for your Layer account.
Strava is optional. Open Profile > gear > Connections to manage it. Connecting requires a Layer account. The rest of Layer works without it.
What Layer reads
With your permission, Layer reads recent run timing, sport, duration, distance, approximate start location, and shoe mileage. This lets imported runs arrive with the weather they happened in and lets Strava shoes carry their mileage into Kit.
Layer does not read heart rate and never posts to Strava. Imported Strava history does not currently train Layer's outfit recommendations.
Reconnect Strava
Open the Strava connection under Connections and follow the reconnect action when Layer says the connection has expired or Strava did not accept it. If reconnecting continues to fail, contact support without sending an access token, authentication code, or password.
Disconnect Strava
Open the Strava connection and choose Disconnect Strava. Layer revokes its Strava access and clears the saved credential.
Runs and shoes already imported stay in Layer. New runs stop matching to Strava automatically, and Kit stops refreshing Strava shoe mileage. You can reconnect later if access is still available.
Signing out of Layer does not revoke Strava access. Use Disconnect Strava when you want to stop the connection.
