Delete your Layer account and data

Delete your Layer account, choose whether to erase this phone, and handle portal data separately.

Deleting your Layer account is permanent. Deleting the app from your phone is a different action and does not delete the account or its private iCloud copy.

Delete the account in Layer

  1. Open Profile.
  2. Tap the gear.
  3. Open Privacy & Data.
  4. Choose Delete Account.
  5. Type DELETE and confirm with Apple.

Layer deletes the account from its backend and attempts to remove the synced Layer data from your private CloudKit zone. If Strava is connected, Layer also revokes its Strava access before the account session ends.

Decide whether to erase this phone

Also erase data on this phone is a separate choice and is off by default.

If you leave it off, your runs, Kit, and other local Layer data stay on this phone after the account is deleted. Turn it on only if you also want to erase the local copy.

If the account is deleted but the CloudKit removal fails, Layer tells you that the synced data was not erased. Contact support for help with that result.

Layer Feedback is a separate account

Deleting the iOS app account does not delete an account at feedback.layertoday.com. Email help@layertoday.com to request deletion of a Layer Feedback account. Requests are handled within 30 days. Public content is removed or anonymized, and retained backup copies expire with the published backup schedule.
